Cyd Charisse (March 8, 1922 – June 17, 2008) the 5 foot 7 1/2 inch actress and dancer from Amarillo, Texas was one of the most beautiful and graceful dancers to ever appear on the silver screen. Popular during the 1940s and ’50s, Charisse danced in some of the greatest musicals of that era, often paired with Fred Astaire or Gene Kelly. Her films include “Singin’ in the Rain” (1952), “The Band Wagon” (1953) and “Silk Stockings” (1957).
