Maureen O’Sullivan the “first Irish movie star”

Maureen Paula O’Sullivan (May 17, 1911 – June 23, 1998) was an Irish-born American-based actress and was known as the “first Irish movie star”. She is probably best remembered for her role as Jane Parker in “Tarzan the Ape Man”, (1932) opposite co-star Johnny Weissmuller. In all, O’Sullivan played Jane in six feature films between 1932 and 1942.
